How to Make a Giant Cinnamon Toast

This is what I make for my adopted family in Michigan. It’s basically the focaccia recipe covered in butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon. You can use butter and jam for a more grown-up version.

Recipe after the jump.

1 cup warm water

1 tablespoon yeast

1 teaspoon sugar

1 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons olive oil

2 1/2 cups flour

Butter

Brown Sugar

Cinnamon

Dissolve yeast in water, stir in sugar and salt, add oil. Stir in flour. Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface and knead, adding flour whenever the dough gets too sticky, for ten minutes. Flatten the dough onto a lightly oiled cookie sheet. Spread with butter, sugar, and cinnamon, or with butter and jam for a less sugary version. Bake at 425 for 15 minutes, or until golden brown around the edges.
