If you’ve never cooked broccoli before, here’s a simple method.
Put a pot of water on to boil. Wash the broccoli, trim off any leaves or tough spots on the stems, and chop it up. When the water is boiling, dump all the broccoli in, and cover the pot with a lid. Wait a minute, then check to see how the broccoli is doing. If it’s bright green and you can stab it with a fork, it’s done! Broccoli will cook in three minutes or less, so it’s best to check it at the one minute mark, and keep a close eye on it from there.
